The Budget: Do you need a side hustle?

A handful of coins

Last month’s blog was on the many ways you can make money from your wardrobe, with p2p rental being one of them. I am focusing on FrockStar this month and how you can make money from your existing wardrobe.

What a boring name ‘The Budget’ but it has just been released and there was nothing exciting in it - we could talk about the billions going into defence, but we won’t, we could also talk about the millions being stripped from social services et al but again, we won’t.

We can talk about how expensive things are: electricity, food, LPG, & fuel, to name a few. Households are having to pull the pin on non-essential activities – you know, all the fun stuff.  ALL THE FUN STUFF, it’s so depressing – I believe that we as humans need to have something to look forward to in life, something to get us through the drudge.

Things like Weddings, Festivals, Race Days & BIG Birthday Celebrations – this is the fun stuff, the parties & celebrations – what’s not to love?

Well, let me tell you ….. you have worn everything in your wardrobe at least once, you see all the same people at these functions and you want something fresh & new to wear but can’t bloomin’ afford to buy anything … well, you can probably afford to buy a cheap Temu or Shein outfit that (let’s be honest) looks cheap and the fabric is awful but you do get what you pay for – this outfit will be worn 6 maybe 7 times before it starts to fall to bits and you throw it away.

And, while you have worn everything in YOUR wardrobe at least once, I haven’t.  And, while I have worn everything in MY wardrobe at least once, you haven’t.

You list your fancy items on FrockStar and create a cool wee side hustle, and I will rent them.

It’s a Win/Win.  You get to make a bit of cash, and I get to wear an amazing outfit for a fraction of the cost of purchase.  You get to rent your garments out over and over again …. I get to wear beautiful clothing without clogging up my wardrobe.

I have a couple of designer dresses, a wedding dress & my husband’s wedding suit that I’ll list to start with – I may even buy the dress I’ve had my eye on, wear it and then list it so it can pay for itself (genius!)

What do you have?  I bet you have more than you think.  Expensive kids’ outfits that they wore once?  Good quality vintage items?  Handbags, Hats?  Suits, Tuxedo’s?

We all have style twins. You will find yours, and they will find you (there will be more than one twin), and you guys will create your own sub-community within the FrockStar Community and share from each other’s wardrobes – imagine finding the cool, iconic pieces that are no longer for sale by the designer.

Pink haired group

So, what are you waiting for?  Start earning $$’s every week by simply renting your wardrobe.

We can’t rely on government (ours or any other) to do the right thing for the people but we can rely on each other.  Our intention is to create a wicked community of super cool frockstars who we can rely on always.

Wanna come along for the ride?  We’d love to have you.

See you next month,

Kat (& the FrockStar team) x
